Open the share panel
Every board and every document has one. It's the single place where invitations, roles and the public link all live — there's no separate settings screen to hunt for.

Invite the people you want
Add collaborators by email and choose what each of them can do as you invite them. They get access to that board only, not to everything you've made.

Give each person a role
View, comment or edit. Roles are set per board, so the same person can co-edit one project while only being able to read another.
Set the role you actually want at invite time rather than granting edit and meaning to tighten it later — that's the one that gets forgotten.

Or just turn on a public link
Switch on a link and anyone holding the URL can view the board — no account, no sign-in, no friction. Switch it off and the link stops working immediately.
A public link is read-only. People can see what's there; they can't move, edit or add anything.

Let people ask their way in
Someone who has the public link can request to join. The request comes to you, and you grant a role with a click — useful when a link gets forwarded to someone who should have been on the board all along.

Work at the same time
When two of you are in the same board you'll see each other's cursors and watch cards move as they're dragged; in a document you'll see edits appear as they're typed.
Real-time collaboration is on for every plan, free included. There's no collaboration tier to upgrade to.

Move to a Team when it's more than one project
Per-board sharing is project by project. A Team is a persistent workspace — invite someone once and share boards across the whole group, with membership managed in one place instead of board by board.
